Prepare the steak: Pat the steaks dry and season generously with salt and black pepper. Let them rest at room temperature for about 15–20 minutes.
Sear the steak: Heat a pan over medium-high heat with olive oil or butter. Sear the steaks for a few minutes on each side until a golden crust forms and the steak reaches your desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
Make the garlic sauce: In the same pan, lower the heat and add butter. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
